Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khatabi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and head of the Media and Communication Sector, called for stronger Arab media coordination and expanded digital advocacy for the Palestinian cause during the 22nd regular session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Kuwait.
In his opening remarks, Khatabi stressed that Palestinian issues remain central to Arab media amid ongoing Israeli policies in the occupied territories, urging intensified efforts to raise global awareness and support Palestinian journalists working under difficult conditions.
He also highlighted the importance of using digital platforms to promote international solidarity and counter misinformation about the region.
Khatabi reaffirmed the Arab League’s commitment to implementing joint media strategies, including media literacy initiatives, counterterrorism communication plans, and sustainable development media frameworks, while encouraging unified negotiations with global media companies to protect Arab digital content and sovereignty.
