20 years ago, late Egyptian singer Shaaban Abdel Rahim performed his hit song "I Hate Israel", and now his son, Khamis, is continuing his father's glorious legacy with the song "I Hate Zionists,".

Khamis says in the song, "I am the one whose father said, I hate Israel ... Israeli is a crazy thing".

The song is written by Islam Khalil, who also collaborated with the late singer.

The song arrives at a time where Egyptian Mohamed Ramadan's photos with Israeli celebrities at a private party in Dubai, went viral on social media and caused a great deal of controversy.

In a statement, Khalil stated that after the death of Shaaban, he started singing these kinds of political songs.

"Khamis asked me to write songs, and his relationship with me is good after the death of his father," he added.

Khalil continued: "I had taken a decision not to write political songs for anyone and I would sing them myself. Praise be to God people liked me, but when Khamis, the son of my beloved friend, late Shaaban Abdel Rahim asked me, of course, I did not hesitate."

Regarding the song "I Hate Israel", the lyricist stated that the song and its success will not be repeated, adding: "This song has entered history".

Abdel Rahim passed away at the age of 62, after being admitted to the Maadi Military Hospital, on December 3, 2019.

The singer before his death had performed at Riyadh season in Saudi Arabia in a wheelchair due to the severity of his illness.

He suffered from shortness of breath after he returned from Syria and was admitted to a hospital to receive medical treatment.

Abdel Rahim was considered to be one of the most popular Egyptian singers, following a string of hits that were very popular in the Arab world, most notably “I will stop smoking”, and “I Hate Israel”.
