Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said today, Friday, that his country's regional presence is important and will not stop, stressing that Tehran's policies in the region will not change.
According to Iranian news agencies, Khamenei’s statements came during a televised speech, today, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Iranian Revolution of January 8, 1978.
On Washington's position on the nuclear deal, Khamenei added that "Iran is not in a hurry to see the United States returns to the nuclear agreement concluded in 2015,”but he stressed the need to “lift sanctions immediately."
“The US is the main reason behind the destabilization of security and stability in the Middle East, and the West must move to lift all forms of sanctions against Iran,” he said.
Khamenei pointed out that "Tehran has obligations to support its allies in the region,” pointing out that its “regional presence is to enhance stability and stability in the region."
Regarding the parliament’s decision to enrich uranium by 20%, the Leader of the Iranian Revolution affirmed that "the decision is correct,” and his country's policy is “commitment in return for commitment."
"Our missile systems are defensive and important in deterring enemies, and they are outside of bargaining," he said.
Earlier, Khamenei called on his country's officials to focus on thwarting US sanctions on his country before focusing on lifting them.
He noted that the "hostilities" of the United States against his country will not end with the departure of US President Donald Trump, adding that "the hostilities are not specific to Trump's administration that will end when he leaves."
It is noteworthy that verbal skirmishes between Iran and the United States have increased in the recent period, in light of the first anniversary of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.
