Mosalia Mudavadi, secretary to the Kenyan Prime Minister (PM) said that the bilateral cooperation between Kenya and China, which was formalized in December 1963, is considered a critical milestone and has unleashed fruitful and profound outcomes for both sides.
In statements carried by the Kenyan newspaper (Daily News), Mudavadi, who also holds the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs, pointed out that six decades of cooperation between Kenya and China have had a positive impact on the East African country in a variety of areas, including trade, infrastructure development, and cultural.
Mudavadi said in an interview with Chinese media outlets in the Kenyan capital Nairobi recently: "We are celebrating 60 years of our independence, and this is the period during which we have enjoyed friendly relations with the Chinese people."
Moreover, he explained that Kenya's engagement with China has been at the level of heads of state, adding that Kenyan President William Ruto and two of his predecessors have taken deliberate steps to strengthen relations with Beijing.
