Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is on an official visit to Moscow where he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 28, according to the Kazakh president's press service on Sunday.

"Talks between the two heads of state will be held tomorrow. Apart from that, the two leaders will virtually take part in the Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia," it said.

This is Tokayev's first foreign visit after winning the snap presidential election on November 20, with 81.31% of the vote, and was inaugurated on Saturday.

He has already paid a working visit to Yerevan to attend a meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Russia-led security bloc.

On November 29-30, Tokayev will pay an official visit to France. His talks with French President Emmanuel Macron are expected to focus on prospects for developing strategic partnerships in the trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian fields.
