The Princess of Wales Kate Middleton paid a visit to the Maidenhead Rugby Club near her Windsor home.
She joined a game of netball rugby before she had different meetings with the male players. They talked about their early memories of the game and their childhood.
Kate Middleton was joined by Nigel Gillingham OBE, President of the RFU, at the engagement.

Gillingham said: “She was telling me that she regularly plays rugby with her children in the back garden—and lots of other sports, adding: “Apparently Charlotte is very much in her mould, very competitive as well apparently.”
On the feeling of the Princess during the engagement, he said “You could tell by the smile on her face that she was enjoying it,” continuing that when it came to charity work Middleton “thinks very deeply about things and cares passionately about things.”

The Princess also met some of the club’s female players, who talked about the importance of women's role in sports.
Zoe Cox, player and coach said: “I think it’s massively important with Kate being female and coming in and playing sport and being so involved with the Rugby Football Union. It’s massive for young girls to see that."
