Internal Medicine professors and the doctors of the Diabetes Clinic at the Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine conducted a study to follow-up, evaluate and treat 50 diabetics remotely using the latest technologies.

This came in implementation of an agreement signed for joint cooperation between the college and PGX Egypt, a leading provider of smart solutions, to conduct a study on the latest electronic applications for remote patient follow-up.

The agreement aims to improve the quality of health services performance and provide the latest health technologies to patients who are treated free of charge.

During the study, 50 patients were followed up using telemedicine consulting techniques, which adopt the hybrid model in medical coverage, whereby the patient is evaluated and the initial examination in the outpatient clinics for diabetes is recorded and all his data is recorded and then followed up remotely through the medical platform "Pulse Care", which allows the patient to upload all private readings, blood sugar levels and HBA1C to reach the medical team around the clock to follow up and adjust treatment and guide the patient through online consultations.

The results of the study showed a response of 95% compliance of the patients participating in the study, despite the low financial level, but this was not an obstacle to the use of technology and medical applications. The medical results came to agree with the latest results published in international journals, with the improvement of diabetes control rates and the low rates of complications.

It is noteworthy that the “Pulse Care” technology is being used around the world and provides the perfect solution for following up on patients over a wide geographical area who have to travel for treatment, where they can be followed up by the best university consultants who are on site to provide better medical care without hardship or cost to the patient. "Pulse Care" technology is also used to cover remote areas, to cover the elderly, to reduce crowding and infection, and to increase the ability of hospitals and doctors to follow up patients efficiently and easily.
