Karim Abdel Aziz Not to Participate in Ramadan 2025

Egyptian actor Karim Abdel Aziz will not participate in the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon.

Abdel Aziz participated last Ramadan with the historical TV series “Al-Hashashin”.

The series also starred Fathy Abdel Wahab, Myrna Noureldin, Ahmed Eid, Eslam Gamal, Nicolas Mouawad, Yasser Ali Maher, Nour Ehab, Omar El Shenawy,  Suzan Najm Aldeen, and more.

The big-budget series was set to screen during the holy month of Ramadan but got postponed to Ramadan 2024 due to the tight schedule and filming time as well as the shooting in several countries abroad. 

It is scripted by Abdel Rahim Kamal, director Peter Mimi, and produced by Synergy production company.

The series takes place in the 11th century and sees Abdel Aziz playing Hassan Al-Sabbah, the founder of Al-Hashashin.

Al-Hashashin was a sect of assassins that operated between 1090 and 1275 CE. 

During that time, they lived in the mountains of Persia and Syria and the covert murder of leaders who were considered enemies of the Nizārī Ismāʿīlī State.

Born on August 17, 1975, to an artistic family, Abdel Aziz is one of the top-notch actors in Egypt and the Arab world. 

He is the son of director Mohamad Abdul Aziz, nephew of filmmaker Omar Abdel Aziz, and actress Samira Muhsin. His father and uncle are known for imprinting modern Egyptian cinema with their movies.

Abdel Aziz starred in his first role at the age of five. He graduated from the Cinema Institute in 1994 and began working at the Film Institute Department of Directing.

In 1997, he served as an assistant director for a short time. The actor’s class at the Cinema Institute included Ahmed Nader Galal, Ahmed Samir Farag, Marwan Wahid Hamed, and Mohamed Ismail Shafei.

Abdel Aziz returned to acting with veteran actor Ahmed Zaki in the 1997 movie “Edhak Elsora Tetlaa Helwa”.

Veteran actress Samira Ahmed chose for a role in the 1998 TV series “Emraa mn zaman el Hob”. 

Abdel Aziz is married and has two children, Malak and Ali.
