In a bold move, Ireland is set to open a Palestinian Museum on the site of the former Israeli Embassy in Dublin.

The decision comes after Israel announced the closure of its embassy in Ireland, citing what it described as "anti-Israel policies" by the Irish government, according to The Irish Times.

The museum, spearheaded by Palestinian-American entrepreneur Faisal Saleh, aims to transform the former Israeli diplomatic site into a symbol of cultural and political significance.

Saleh described the project as a "political statement," emphasizing the substantial support it has garnered within Ireland for promoting Palestinian history and culture.

The new museum will feature a diverse collection of artwork, sculptures, and installations that narrate the story of Palestine.

Saleh’s US-based Palestine Museum has previously organized exhibitions across Europe, including its latest show in Bantry, County Cork.

Since its establishment in Connecticut in April 2018, the Palestine Museum US has been dedicated to sharing the Palestinian narrative with a global audience through art.

The move aligns with Ireland's increasing support for Palestinian rights. In May, Ireland formally recognized the State of Palestine and, more recently, joined South Africa in a legal case against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, accusing Israel of genocide.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced on Sunday the decision to close the Dublin embassy, asserting that Ireland had "crossed all red lines" in its relations with Israel.
