Kamla Abu Zekry Confirms She Won't Direct 'Bi 100 Wesh' S2

The first season of the TV Series “Bi 100 Wesh” (Many-Faced) was one of the most-watched soap opera and achieved great success during its premiere in Ramadan.

It was directed by prominent director Kamla Abu Zekry, and starring Asser Yassin, Nelly Karim, Mustafa Darwish, Ola Roushdy, Islam Ibrahim, and others.

The cast has displayed brilliant acting performances. The series brought to the show the technique of the Spanish series "La Casa de Papel" (Money Heist), displaying a tightly constructed robbery in a light-hearted way, which left the audience thirsty for more.

In an interview with “Et bil Arabi” program, the prominent director expressed her happiness over the success of the series, revealing that she will not be directing the second part of the series.

She apologized to all of her fans, revealing that she will not participate in Ramadan 2021 with any work, and expressed her desire to return to the cinema in 2021.

Abu Zekry continued: "I want to take time off and to rest after the hard effort I made in Ramadan 2020,"

The director declined the existence of differences between her and Jamal Al-Adl's production company.

"I always love persity in all of my work, whether in drama or the cinema," Abu Zekry added.

Abu Zekry revealed that she is preparing to shoot a new film, which is adapted from Naguib Mahfouz's novel "Taht el manzala".

The 46-year-old director announced that she has contracted for the film in the last period, which will be scripted by Fatima Naoot.

Abu Zekry has directed her last film in the 2016 film "Yom Lel Setat" (A Day for Women).

It is worth mentioning that Kamla Abu Zekry, born on January 8, 1974, is an Egyptian television and film director.

Abu Zekry is known for directing well-known movies and TV series such as "Bent Esmaha Zaat", "Segn El Nisaa", and "Wahed Sefr".

She graduated from the High Cinema Institute and started her career in a collaboration with Nadel Galal on "131 Ashghal" in 1993.

Abu Zekry is also known for her collaboration with screenwriter Mariam Naoom on several TV series including "A Girl Named Zat", and "Women's Prison" (2014).
