Egypt's minister of transportation Kamel El-Wazir said that he would visit the family of Mohamed Eid, the victim of the Tanta train accident, to pay condolences to his family.
The minister vowed to pay a compensation of 100,000 Egyptian pounds for the family of the dead young man and 20,000 pound for the injured one.
In a phone call with TV anchor Amr Adieb during El Hekaya program broadcast on MBC Misr satellite channel on Monday evening, El-Wazir confirmed his rejection to the act of the conductor as the Ministry's directives state that a report should be issued against the person who does not pay the ticket price.
El-Wazir added: "We promise the families of the deceased and the injured to provide them with job opportunities in the Railway Authority for any member of the two families."
On Monday, the Ministry of transportation issued a statement after the incident, saying: "When the conductor of the train demanded two passengers to pay the tickets prices, they refused and when the train began to reduce its speed at Dafra station due to a malfunction in the signal system at the station, the two passengers jumped from the train while moving; one of them was killed while the other was injured, the ambulance took them to Tanta Hospital."
