Kais Saied Reiterates Gratitude to Sisi for Joint Efforts in Combating COVID-19

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called on Wednesday Tunisian President Kais Saied to offer his condolences over the victims of the helicopter that crashed in Gabes, southeast Tunisia, during a military exercise that killed three soldiers.

Sisi renewed Egypt's support for the tireless efforts of the Tunisian president to build a better future for Tunisians and achieve stability, said Presidential spokesman Bassam Al-Radi.

The spokesman added that Egypt is ready to mobilize all its energies to provide the required support to the Tunisians within the framework of the distinguished relations that bind the two nations.

The Tunisian president reiterated his country's appreciation for the close relations binding the two countries at both official and popular levels, saying Tunisia is keen on ironing out all hurdles blocking promoting bilateral cooperation, increasing trade exchange and drawing on from Egyptian expertise as regards achieving security, stability and development.

On his part, Saeed reiterated Tunisia's appreciation for the close relations with Egypt, saying that his country is keen to overcome all obstacles that hinder trade exchange. He also stressed the country's keenness to benefit from the Egyptian experiences in achieving security and development.

The spokesman said that the call dealt with joint efforts in combating the COVID-19 outbreak.

The two leaders also exchanged views on several regional files, including the Libyan crisis, and the will to help intensify coordination to help end the crisis thereby pressing for presidential and parliamentary elections, as well as the exit of all foreign fighters and mercenaries from Libya.
