The adventure movie “Jungle Cruise” is getting a sequel after allocating $100 million at the US box office this past weekend.

It is also expected for director Jaume Collet-Serra to return for the sequel along with screenwriter Michael Green, who co-wrote the first movie.

The movie is inspired by the popular theme park ride of the same name and centers around riverboat captain Skipper Frank and Dr. Lily Houghton, a scientist who embarks with her brother McGregor (played by Jack Whitehall) on a journey into a jungle to find the Tree of Life, which is believed to possess healing powers.

The first Jungle Cruise movie was released simultaneously in both theaters and Disney+ Premier Acess on July 30.
