Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad announced that Thursday, July 23, 2026, will be an official paid holiday for employees subject to the provisions of the Labor Law No. 14 of 2025, on the occasion of the July 23 Revolution anniversary.
The Minister emphasized that employers may require employees to work on this day if operational conditions necessitate it.
In such cases, the worker is entitled to double their daily wage in addition to their original pay for that day, or may be granted an alternative day off upon a written request submitted by the employee to be filed in their personal record, pursuant to the provisions of the Labor Law.
The Minister stated that this decision comes in execution of Article 129 of Labor Law No. 14 of 2025, which stipulates that employees subject to its provisions are entitled to paid leave on holidays and official occasions specified by a decree from the Minister responsible for labor affairs.
It also aligns with Ministerial Decree No. 294 of 2025 regarding the determination of holidays and official occasions deemed fully paid leave for workers, which includes the July 23 Revolution Anniversary under Item 11 of its first article among the official paid holidays.
