The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a slight rise in temperatures across most parts of the country on Sunday, with hot and humid weather continuing nationwide and extremely hot conditions expected over Upper Egypt.
Warm and humid weather will prevail during the early morning hours, while hot and humid conditions are expected throughout the day across most regions.
The northern coasts will experience relatively hot and humid weather, with mild to warm and humid conditions expected during the night.
The EMA noted that high humidity levels will continue to increase the perceived temperature, making the weather feel hotter than the recorded values.
There is also a 20% chance of light rainfall over Halaib, Abu Simbel, and the far southern Western Desert at intermittent intervals.
Intermittent winds with speeds ranging between 30 and 35 km/h are expected across Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, and the western coasts, helping to moderate nighttime temperatures.
The authority also warned of active winds along the beaches of El Salloum, Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, and Baltim, causing waves to rise between 1.5 and 2 meters.
Additionally, there is a 30% chance of blowing dust and sand affecting Halaib, Abu Simbel, and parts of the far southern Western Desert, with dust expected to move northward from Sudan and potentially reduce horizontal visibility.
The EMA also forecasts a slight chance of low clouds forming over parts of the northern coasts, the Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, and the Canal Cities, with isolated light drizzle possible in some areas. The rainfall is expected to be light and non-impactful.
The expected maximum and "feels like" temperatures are as follows:
Greater Cairo: 37°C (feels like 39°C)
Nile Delta: 36°C (feels like 38°C)
Northwestern Coast: 32°C (feels like 35°C)
Northeastern Coast: 35°C (feels like 38°C)
North Upper Egypt: 40°C (feels like 42°C)
South Upper Egypt: 43°C (feels like 44°C)
