High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stressed on Sunday the need to activate the two-state solution as a solution to the conflict between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, pointing out to the need to achieve peace in the occupied Palestinian territories based on the principle of the two-state solution.
He also indicated that achieving peace will only be achieved through negotiations between the two sides.
In a joint press conference with foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Borrell stressed the need to revive the peace process, expressing his concern about the current escalation in the occupied territories, expressing the European Union's aspiration to reduce the escalation between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
He pointed out to the necessity to revive the peace process in the Middle East, praising the key and pivotal Egyptian role in the peace process.
