Jordan’s FM Warns of Dangerous Escalation in Region During Call with Iranian Counterpart

Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, warned of the serious consequences of the ongoing escalation on regional security and stability.

This came during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi, during which they discussed the latest developments in the region and the dangerous escalation taking place.

Safadi condemned the Israeli aggression on Gaza, stressing the importance of regional and international efforts to halt the attacks, achieve a permanent ceasefire, and ensure Israel's commitment to the prisoner exchange agreement, which was mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.

He also emphasized the need for the international community to take a clear and effective stance to compel Israel to abide by the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, stop its attacks on Syria, and adhere to the 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria.

According to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Safadi and Araghchi also discussed several bilateral and regional issues.
