Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi affirmed on Monday that his country appreciates Egypt's role to end the conflict in the Palestinian territories and achieve peace.
He added during a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, “we want to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire and prevent any provocations in Jerusalem,” pointing out that there is no solution without achieving a comprehensive peace in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab initiative.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister stressed that violence may erupt again if no settlement of the Palestinian issue is reached, “therefore we need an effective solution, and continuous coordination with the Egyptian state in order to resolve this conflict and achieve peace.” he added.
