The Jordanian News Agency (Petra) reported today, Wednesday, that the House of Representatives is going to vote to expel the Israeli ambassador from the country, in the wake of the recent statements of the Israeli Minister of Finance, which the Kingdom described as "incitement."

The Israeli Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, delivered a speech in Paris on Sunday, in which he said that the idea of the Palestinian people is artificial: "There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian history, and there is no Palestinian language."

Yesterday, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi called on Israel to "confirm that the finance minister's statements do not represent its position," condemning the statements he described as "inciting" by a racist Israeli minister.

Al-Safadi stressed in a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "The statements of the Israeli Minister of Finance will not affect us, and we warn of the danger of this extremist ideology."

The Jordanian foreign minister stated, "We will take the necessary positions in the event of an escalation of provocations."
