Jordanian King Abdullah II and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed on Sunday, the need to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, warning that the continuation of this war during the holy month of Ramadan will increase the risk of the conflict expanding.

This came within the two leaders' meeting in Amman, Jordan, to discuss latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Moreover, King Abdullah II stressed the need to exert all efforts to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and protect innocent civilians.

He also pointed out that Jordan will continue to provide humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to the people in the Strip.

Furthermore, the Jordanian monarch warned of the Israeli escalation in the West Bank and the practices of extremist settlers against the Palestinians and the violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
