Jordanian King Abdullah II, in a phone call with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday, stressed the urgent need for the international community to act immediately to push for an end to Israeli attacks on Gaza and to ensure a sustained ceasefire.
According to a statement from the Royal Court, King Abdullah emphasized the importance of resuming the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza to mitigate the worsening humanitarian crisis.
The Jordanian King reaffirmed Jordan’s firm rejection of the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, warning of the dangers posed by continued assaults on Palestinians in the West Bank and violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Regarding the situation in Syria, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan’s support for Syria’s efforts to preserve its unity, sovereignty, and stability.
