Jordanian Army Thwarts Drug Smuggling Attempt via Drone

The Jordanian military announced that its Southern Military Region successfully thwarted a drug smuggling attempt on Saturday, using a drone along its western border.

A senior official from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stated in a press release, "Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Region, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted a drone attempting to illegally cross the border, engaging it according to the rules of engagement and causing it to drop the narcotics within Jordanian territory."

The official noted that the seized narcotics were turned over to the relevant authorities. He emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces are committed to using all available resources with utmost determination to prevent any infiltration or smuggling activities to ensure the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
