Jordanian Army Intercepts 2 Ballistic Missiles over Territory

A senior military source in the Jordanian Armed Forces announced Saturday that two ballistic missiles targeting Jordanian territory were successfully intercepted by the country’s air defense systems.

The source said the interception was carried out in accordance with established military procedures and confirmed that no casualties were reported. Circulating footage showed missile debris falling in the Marj Al Hamam area, south of the capital Amman.

Earlier, as U.S.–Israeli operations against Iran began, the Jordanian military clarified that sounds heard in parts of the country were linked to aircraft from the Royal Jordanian Air Force conducting routine operational sorties.

The military stated that these flights were part of aerial reconnaissance and patrol missions aimed at safeguarding Jordan’s airspace and preventing any unauthorized incursions or suspicious activity.

The missile interceptions come amid heightened regional tensions tied to the escalating confrontation involving Iran. Several countries across the region have raised their alert levels and reinforced air defense systems to protect their airspace and national security.
