Ayman Safadi held talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss efforts to contain escalating tensions in the region, Jordanian officials said.
The call comes amid heightened instability across the Middle East, prompting intensified diplomatic activity to prevent further deterioration.
Safadi stressed the need to halt escalation and prioritise political and diplomatic solutions, warning that continued tensions could have far-reaching consequences for regional and international security.
Jordan is pursuing parallel efforts focused on securing a ceasefire and advancing dialogue to address underlying causes of the crises, officials said, underscoring Amman’s role as a key intermediary between regional and international actors.
The discussions also reflected close coordination between Jordan and the United States, amid shared concerns over the potential economic and security fallout of prolonged instability.
Jordan has repeatedly called for respect for state sovereignty and renewed emphasis on diplomacy as tensions continue to rise across the region.
