Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi emphasized the need for the international community to prevent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from diverting attention away from the ongoing situation in Gaza through an escalated confrontation with Iran.

During a press conference held in Berlin with his German counterpart, Safadi highlighted Iran's response to the attack on its consulate, noting that Tehran has expressed a desire to avoid further escalation. "It's also crucial to prevent Netanyahu from shifting focus from what's happening in Gaza to the Israeli-Iranian confrontation," Safadi added.

The Jordanian minister strongly criticized Israel's actions, stating, "We cannot accept Israel's violations of international law without accountability. The international community must protect its credibility in this regard."

Safadi called for increased pressure on the Israeli government to prevent the region from spiraling into a new cycle of violence. "Escalation is dangerous for us all, and stopping it requires addressing the root causes of tension. The first step towards de-escalation is stopping the aggression on Gaza," he explained.

Safadi's comments reflect growing concerns about the potential for increased violence in the region and the importance of maintaining focus on the humanitarian and legal issues at play in Gaza. The Jordanian government continues to advocate for a concerted international effort to uphold international law and prevent further deterioration of the situation.
