Jordan has announced its intention to pursue legal measures to address Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi informed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken of Jordan’s decision, emphasizing the country's commitment to halting Israeli aggression and protecting religious sites.
In a recent communication with Blinken, Safadi stressed the urgent need to cease all illegal Israeli actions in the West Bank and violations of the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
He warned that these actions undermine the prospects for peace.
Safadi indicated that Jordan would use all available legal channels to address these violations, including preparing legal files for international courts.
He described the assaults on sacred sites as clear breaches of international law and serious escalations that Jordan intends to confront through all possible means.
Additionally, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), based in Riyadh, reaffirmed the enduring connection of Muslims to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The OIC called for the preservation of the legal and historical status of the holy sites in Jerusalem, emphasizing that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which spans 144 dunams, must remain a place of worship solely for Muslims.
