Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has reaffirmed that the Kingdom will not allow its territory to be used as a battleground or a launchpad for any military action against Iran, stressing Jordan’s firm commitment to protecting its sovereignty and regional stability.

Safadi made the remarks during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which the two sides discussed escalating regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

According to a statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, Safadi emphasized that Jordan rejects involvement in any regional conflict and will not permit any violation of its airspace or territory. He underlined that the Kingdom’s primary concern is safeguarding the security of its citizens and maintaining stability in the region.

The Jordanian foreign minister also reiterated his country’s support for diplomatic solutions, calling dialogue and political engagement the only viable path to resolving disputes, including those related to Iran’s nuclear program. He stressed the importance of respecting international law and the sovereignty of states.

In turn, Araghchi expressed appreciation for Jordan’s stance and its role in promoting de-escalation, according to the statement.

Jordan’s position comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, as fears grow over the possibility of wider regional confrontation involving major international and regional powers. The Kingdom has repeatedly stated that it seeks to avoid being drawn into any military conflict and remains committed to efforts aimed at reducing tensions and preserving regional security.
