Jordan Reports More Cases of Mutated COVID-19 Variant

On Saturday, the Jordanian Ministry of Health announced that three new cases of Mutated COVID-19 variant were recorded in the kingdom during the last 24 hours, according to Sputnik news agency.

This brings the total number of infections with the new strain in Jordan to 5 cases.

According to a medical source, three new cases were discovered after examining 4 samples for people coming from abroad.

Last Sunday, Health Minister revealed that two persons who arrived lately from the UK were diagnosed with a new Coronavirus variant.

On December 14, the UK Minister of Health Matt Hancock announced that researchers had discovered a new strain of coronavirus, which could be the reason behind the rapid spread of “Covid-19” infection in southeast Britain.

He added that the initial analysis indicates that the new strain is spreading very quickly, and its ability to infect may increase the capacity of previous infectious strains by 70%.
