The Jordanian government reaffirmed its commitment to national economic stability this Sunday, asserting that ongoing regional unrest will not derail the Kingdom's strategic development plans.
Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, the Minister of Government Communications and official spokesperson, emphasized that Jordan is moving forward with its major infrastructure projects. He stated that the government refuses to allow external geopolitical events to hinder the progress of building a robust national economy.
Resilience Backed by Global Confidence
According to Al-Momani, the resilience of Jordan's economy is not just a local claim but is validated by international certifications. These reports highlight the Kingdom's high efficiency in navigating regional disruptions and maintaining fiscal stability.
Strengthening Regional Ties and Strategic Infrastructure
The Minister highlighted several key indicators of Jordan's economic momentum:
Syrian Relations: The recent signing of 10 agreements with Syria signals a significant uptick in regional trade and economic activity.
Gulf Investment: Jordan continues to deepen ties with Gulf partners. A notable example is the investment partnership with the United Arab Emirates, which includes the massive Aqaba Port railway project.
Logistics & Transport: Al-Momani clarified that the new railway system is not a replacement for truck transport but a vital enhancement. It is designed to boost the Kingdom’s capacity for imports, exports, and overall logistical efficiency.
Investor Confidence and Food Security
The government’s media strategy is currently focused on highlighting positive economic indicators to bolster investor confidence. This approach aims to stimulate growth and create sustainable job opportunities for the Jordanian youth.
Addressing public concerns, Al-Momani assured citizens regarding the country's food security. He noted that Jordan's successful management of recent global crises serves as definitive proof of the readiness and reliability of its state institutions.
Stability through Leadership
The Minister concluded by praising the role of the Jordanian Armed Forces and Public Security in maintaining national safety. He attributed the Kingdom's ability to withstand the repercussions of regional conflicts to the "rational and balanced political discourse" led by the Hashemite leadership.
