Jordan Decides to Deport Foreign Workers Who Do Not Have Corona Vaccine

Today, Saturday, the Jordanian Ministry of Interior announced that it will expel foreign workers who have not received two doses of vaccine against the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) from the country, as of mid-December.

The ministry said in a press statement today, Saturday, that “severe measures will be taken against foreign workers who did not receive the two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, starting from the fifteenth of next December, and among these measures is the deportation of those who did not receive the vaccine out of the country.

The statement added that this decision comes with the aim of preserving public health and safety and for the purposes of immunizing them against infection and not transmitting it to others, especially since it allows obtaining the vaccine for free and without requiring the presentation of a residence permit or a work permit.

Today, Saturday, 12 deaths and 1,022 new infections with the Coronavirus were recorded in Jordan, according to the media brief issued by the Ministry of Health.

With this new count, the total deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in Jordan have risen to 11028, while injuries have reached 860,818.

The number of new recoveries reached 1372, bringing the total number of recoveries to 829,089, while the number of active cases reached 20,701.

On the other hand, the United Nations (UN) warned of an "unprecedented" increase in public debt in the Arab region and urged creditors to extend the debt service exemption period until late 2022.

On the eve of the G20 Summit, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) launched a new study in which it indicated that the past decade witnessed an unprecedented increase in public debt in the Arab region.

And the United Nations website quoted the supervisor of the study preparation team, Niranjan Sarangi, that the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the needs of countries to obtain SEO.
