The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates vehemently condemned the recent Israeli bombing of the Abu Aasi School, operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Beach Camp, and a residential house in Beit Lahia, Gaza.

The attack resulted in the deaths of over 60 people, mostly women and children, and injured dozens.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry described the bombing as a "blatant violation of international law, particularly the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War."

The statement emphasized the systematic targeting of civilians and displacement centers.

Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, spokesperson for the ministry, expressed the kingdom's absolute denunciation of Israel's ongoing violations of international and humanitarian law, highlighting the lack of a decisive international response to restrain Israeli aggression and force compliance with international law to cease its assault on Gaza, which has led to unprecedented humanitarian disaster.

Al-Qudah reiterated the necessity of ensuring the protection of civilians, vital facilities providing essential services to Palestinian brethren, humanitarian facilities, and displacement centers under international and humanitarian law.

He renewed calls for the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities by compelling Israel to immediately halt its aggression in Gaza, end its ongoing violations, and hold those responsible accountable.
