Jordan has urgently called upon the international community for an "immediate intervention" to halt what it describes as an "Israeli assault" on the Jenin refugee camp in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

This call to action was highlighted in a statement by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was broadcasted on Monday on the official "Al-Mamlaka" TV channel. The statement was made in light of an ongoing military operation that the Israeli army is allegedly conducting against the Jenin camp.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it calls the "continuous Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories," particularly the recent alleged aggression on the city of Jenin.

The Ministry warned against a continuing "cycle of violence" and implored the international community to take "immediate action to stop the Israeli attacks on the occupied Palestinian territories."

Sinan Al-Majali, the official spokesperson for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, emphasized the importance of halting the ongoing intrusions into Palestinian cities and protecting them from recurrent attacks, as well as de-escalating the situation. Al-Majali regarded the recent escalation in Jenin as a violation of international humanitarian law and Israel's obligations as the occupying power.

Al-Majali warned of the consequences of this escalation, stating that "it will only lead to further deterioration and violence."

He strongly urged the international community to take immediate and effective action to halt this aggression and to provide protection for the Palestinian people in all the occupied Palestinian territories.
