Signs of recovery are beginning to emerge in Jordan's aviation sector, with eight airlines resuming flights through Queen Alia International Airport after a period of suspension due to the repercussions of the war in the region. However, 21 other airlines have yet to resume operations.
Albrus Hamzouk, Head of Operations at Airport International Group, stated that the aviation sector was severely impacted by the regional escalation, noting a decline in aircraft traffic of approximately 55% compared to normal levels, resulting from flight cancellations and the closure of some destinations.
He added that this decrease has directly affected passenger numbers, given the reduction in scheduled flights, particularly to the Gulf countries, which are among the most affected destinations.
