British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson expressed his hope that progress could be achieved, in the coming days, on the export of Ukrainian grain.

This came during a phone call between Johnson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Both leaders discussed Russia’s unforgivable blockade of Ukrainian grain, and Johnson said he hoped progress on the issue could be made in the coming days,” a spokesman for the British PM said in a statement.

Earlier this month,  Zelensky discussed with Johnson strengthening defense support for Ukraine and ending the blockade of Ukrainian ports.

“As part of the regular dialogue, I had another phone conversation with Boris Johnson. We talked about strengthening defense support for Ukraine, intensifying work on security guarantees, and supplying fuel to Ukraine. ” Zelensky tweeted.

“We must work together to prevent a food crisis and unblock Ukrainian ports,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that, the Ukrainian president discussed with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, on Friday, ways to lift the blockade of wheat exports from Ukraine to address the food crisis that threatens the poorest countries in the world.
