British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson said that the UK would provide a further military package to Ukraine.

This came during a phone call between Johnson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This comes within the framework of Western countries’ support for Kyiv with multiple combat and defensive weapons, most notably the Javelin anti-tank and shoulder-mounted missiles.

It is worth mentioning that the Ukrainian president confirmed that the Russian forces faced fierce Ukrainian resistance, sending a message to the Russian people: "Do not remain silent." The Ukrainian president added: Many countries of the world support us in this crisis."

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a military operation in the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine.

Putin said that his country does not intend to occupy Ukraine but rather to protect the Donbass region, which includes the republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, warning against any external interference in Ukraine and at the same time calling on the Ukrainian soldiers to lay down their arms.
