On Saturday, Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson had talks with Rishi Sunak after both Conservative politicians got the required threshold for running for Tory's leadership, according to multiple reports.

The meeting came after Johnson returned back to London from his Caribbean holiday to taste the waters before joining the rally again after stepping down from the office last July.

Shortly after Johnson's return to London, it was reported that his backers managed to secure the required threshold to run for the Conservative party's upcoming elections.

Johnson stepped down as UK Prime Minister after losing the support of the cabinet members and the majority of the Conservative lawmakers, In addition, he expressed his sadness for not being successful as he wished.

He added: "I know that there will be many people who are relieved and perhaps quite a few who will also be disappointed. And I want you to know how sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world. But them's the breaks."

Shortly, Liz Truss won the elections of the party's leadership and formed the cabinet to be the first woman Prime Minister to witness the reign of two UK monarchs as she witnessed the final days of Queen Elizabeth II on the throne and the proclamation of King Charles III.

Truss had to leave the office after only six weeks in the office due to the backlash of the mini-budget proposal.
