EGOT winner singer/songwriter John Legend and his wife, US model Chrissy Teigen have lost their third child following pregnancy complications on Wednesday.
Teigen had been hospitalized on Sunday suffering from excessive bleeding during her pregnancy.
Earlier this week, she posted a series of updates about her high-risk pregnancy revealing she was hospitalized for bleeding “constantly”.
Teigen was on strict bed rest orders, and bleeding for "a little less than a month", before the hospitalization.
The mother-of-two shared the news with black-and-white pictures of her at the hospital.

"We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough," said the statement posted on their verified accounts.
The statements stated that the couple waited to name the baby until after delivering, but this time they had already begun calling him Jack.
“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever,” the statement added.
They also directed a heartbreaking message to Jack, saying: “To our Jack - I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you,”
The famous pair also thanked everyone who has been sending them positive energy, thoughts, and prayers.
“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.” the statement concluded.
Teigen later tweeted, “Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real.”

In August, the family announced the baby news with an appearance in Legend and Gary Clark Jr.’s new music video, “Wild“.
The EGOT winner was seen embracing his wife from behind, as she cradles her small baby bump, at the end of the video.
Teigen met Legend on the set of Legend’s 2006 music video for “Stereo", during which she starred as his love interest in the music video.
After around four years of dating, Legend proposed to Teigen during a Malpes vacation in 2011.
In 2013, they tied the knot at an NYC courthouse a day before traveling to Italy, where the duo held their wedding ceremony in Lake Como.
The couple has two children, daughter, Luna, 4, and son, Miles, 2.
