"The Kissing Booth" star Joey King and Netflix are reteaming for the feature adaptation of the young adult novel “Uglies”.
McG will direct the feature based on Scott Westerfeld's novel, which set in a dystopian world where cosmetic surgery is administered to everyone at the age of 16 to make them "pretty."
The movie will be penned by Krista Vernoff.
Furthermore, King will also serve as an executive producer of the project alongside Jamie King and Westerfeld.

"The Kissing Booth" star will next be seen in Blumhouse’s "The Lie" opposite Peter Sarsgaard, which is set to be released on Amazon.
King will also co-star opposite Brad Pitt in Sony’s action-thriller “Bullet Train".
The movie will be directed by David Leitch, the director of “Hobbs & Shaw”. It is based on the popular Japanese book, “Maria Beetle” by Kotaro Isaka. The novel revolves around a group of hitmen and assassins with conflicting motives on a train in Tokyo.
The production has been tonally described as film “Speed”, starring Keanu Reeves, which is set on a bus, meets Non-Stop, the 2014 Liam Neeson thriller set on a plane.

It is worth mentioning that King, born July 30, 1999, first gained recognition for portraying Ramona Quimby in the comedy film "Ramona and Beezus" in 2010.
She gained wider recognition for her lead role in "The Kissing Booth" (2018) and its 2020 sequel.
Also, King received critical acclaim for her role in the crime drama series "The Act" (2019), which nominated her for both a Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award.
She is also known for her appearances in the films "The Conjuring" (2013), "White House Down" (2013), "Independence Day: Resurgence" (2016), "Wish Upon" (2017), and "Slender Man" (2018).
