The US First Lady Jill Biden will pay an official visit to two EU countries, Romania and Slovakia, from May 5 to 9 to meet US Service members, embassy officials, and Ukrainian refugees, the office of the First Lady announced on Monday.
The schedule of Biden will include a meeting with the US military service members at Mihail Kigalinceau Airbase in Romania, after that, she will move to the Romanian capital, Bucharest for having talks with Romanian officials, US Embassy staff members, aid workers, and teachers who are in contact with evacuated Ukrainian children.
Regarding her stops in Slovakia, Biden will visit Bratislava, Kosice, Vysne Nemecke to meet refugees, aid workers, and officials.
The US First Lady's first is considered a part of the US continued support and backing to Ukraine since the beginning of the military operations by Russia in the state.
US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said her visit to Ukraine sends a clear message to the world that America supports Ukraine.
“America stands with Ukraine until victory is achieved, just as we stand with NATO,” Pelosi told reporters in Rzeszow, Poland, Radio Poland reported on Sunday.
She noted that she discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday humanitarian and economic aid and reconstruction efforts, noting that she conveyed to the Ukrainian president a message of unity and appreciation from the US Congress.
