Japan has welcomed a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing support for diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region and ensure the safe passage of global energy supplies.
In a statement reported by local media, the Japanese government said it continues to pursue diplomatic initiatives, including efforts to ensure the safe reopening of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The waterway, a critical artery for global oil shipments, has long been a focal point of regional tensions. Tokyo’s remarks reflect concerns among major energy-importing nations about potential disruptions to supply chains.
Japan emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in the Gulf region and reiterated its commitment to working with international partners to de-escalate tensions and support ongoing negotiations.
