El Sisi: Japan Key Strategic Partner for Egypt

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting earlier Sunday with Toyota Tsusho Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ichiro Kashitani in Osaka, Japan, Egyptian presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said.

At the outset of the meeting, El Sisi confirmed that Japan is a key strategic partner for Egypt.

The president pointed out that Egypt has the necessary capabilities to be an important hub for all Japanese industries that are known by their efficiency, Rady added.

 

Moreover, the Egyptian head of state praised the company’s activities in Egypt over the last ten years, referring to the available investment opportunities, in the light of major national projects implemented by the state nowadays, including: Suez Canal development project, and infrastructure projects especially in renewable energy sector.

For his part, Kashitani reviewed the projects that are currently being studied by the Japanese company to be implemented in Egypt during the coming period, in view of the promising opportunities offered by the Egyptian market.

On the sidelines of the two-day G20 Summit held in Osaka, Japan, from 28-29 June, president El-Sisi participated in various important meetings with other world leaders, including the Japanese and Italian prime ministers and the German chancellor to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation and a number of regional and international issues.

The G20 membership comprises a mix of the world’s largest advanced and emerging economies, which represent two-thirds of the world’s population.

The members of G20 are: Japan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, China, Germany, France, Italy, India, South Korea, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, the United States, the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom (UK).
