Japan has conferred the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun on H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to strengthening Arab-Japanese relations and advancing cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
The decoration was presented on behalf of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito during a ceremony at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador in Cairo, attended by diplomats and dignitaries.
In his speech, Aboul Gheit expressed gratitude to the Emperor and the Government of Japan, describing the honor as a tribute to shared efforts in fostering dialogue and mutual understanding. He praised Japan’s model of development rooted in cultural pride and innovation, and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing Arab-Japanese cooperation through political dialogue and cultural exchange.
