Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. announced on Monday that the launch of the 49th H-2A rocket from a Japanese space center, originally scheduled for this afternoon, has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions.
According to the Japanese news agency Jiji, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, responsible for the rocket launch, stated that the forecasted winds over the Tanegashima Space Center, operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in Kagoshima Prefecture, do not meet the launch criteria.
The rocket, carrying Japan's eighth radar reconnaissance satellite for government intelligence purposes, was initially slated for launch last Wednesday. However, due to anticipated adverse weather, the launch was rescheduled to today.
