Japan Announces $167 Million Support Package for Palestine

​Japanese Ambassador to Palestine, Araiki Katsuhiko, has announced a new comprehensive support package from Japan to the Palestinian people. 

The package includes $10 million in direct budget support as part of the supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year, reflecting Tokyo's ongoing commitment to Palestine.

​During a meeting with the Palestinian Minister of Finance and Planning, Stephen Salameh, at the ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah, Ambassador Katsuhiko detailed the allocation of the $167 million total aid package:

-​$10 million: Direct financial support for the government budget.

-​$30 million: Funding for developmental projects and capacity-building programs.

-​$127 million: Allocated for humanitarian projects across various governorates, with a primary focus on the Gaza Strip.

​According to the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA), the Ambassador reaffirmed Japan's dedication to supporting the Palestinian people through these challenging times. 

He emphasized that this aid aims to contribute to regional stability and promote sustainable development in Palestine.
