Two-time Golden Globe winner Jamie Lee Curtis has recently signed on to appear in the upcoming film adaptation of the video game "Borderlands".

The Eli Roth-directed production also stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart, who will appear in leading roles.

The movie is scripted by Chernobyl screenwriter Craig Mazin.

Curtis is set to portray Tannis, an archeologist who may have vital information regarding a fabled vault full of futuristic weapons and technology. Her character also has a contentious history with Lilith, who will be played by Blanchett.

Meanwhile, Hart will play Roland, a supersoldier who has been featured in multiple games across the franchise's history.

In a statement, Roth expressed enthusiasm for bringing the Halloween actress to the upcoming production.

"Working with the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am so excited for her to bring her humor, warmth, and brilliance to the role of Tannis," she stated.

The development of the video game series was first announced in 2015. Saw co-creator Leigh Whannell was originally in talks to direct the movie.

Last year, Roth signed on to direct the project, which release date has yet to be set.

The "Borderlands" video game was released in 2009 and received positive critical attention for its gameplay and storyline. The series currently has four main entries in addition to a mobile game and an episodic series developed by now-shuttered studio Telltale Games.

Many novels and comic books have been released featuring various characters and settings from the franchise.
