J-Hope Tops List of ‘Most Influential Idols’ for 2021

Special Awards announced Sunday a list of the top 10 'Most Influential Idols' of 2021, declaring BTS' Jung Ho-seok number one on the list.

10) Hwang Hyun Jin – South Korea 

 Hyunjin Hwang Hyun Jin ranked tenth on the list. He is the main dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist and the visual of a boy band called “Stray Kids”. Hyunjin, 21, was born in South Korea but used to live in Las Vegas. The rapper made his first debut with the group in their first album 'I AM NOT' and their leading single 'District 9'.

9) Kim Namjoon – South Korea

Kim Namjoon, known by his stage name RM, came ninth on the list. He is a South Korean rapper, songwriter as well as leader of the K-pop boy group BTS.

Notably, he was among the most credited songwriter in KOMCA's history, having written the lyrics to all his features, his solo music as well as BTS' music, according to Allkpop.

8) Lalisa Manoban – Thailand

Thai rapper and dancer Lalisa Manoban, known by the mononym Lisa, held the 8th in the list. Lisa is a member of the girl group Blackpink. She began preparing for the release of her first solo album exciting fans all across the world.

Astonishingly, the superstar has surpassed 100,000 pre-order copies in just a span of 27 hours on Ktown4U, making her the fastest K-pop female artist to do so in Ktown4U’s history.

7) Min Yoongi – South Korea

Min Yoon-gi, known by his stage name SUGA, ranked seventh in the list. He is a South Korean rapper and producer in BTS.

His Agust D’s 2nd mixtape ‘D-2’ surpassed 350 million streams on Spotify as of July 5, making it the most-streamed album on Spotify released by a Korean solo artist.

6) Kim Seokjin – South Korea

South Korean singer Kim Seok-jin, also known by his stage name Jin, ranked 6th in the list. Japanese media listed him as one of the idols who have shown a masterpiece of acting skills in music videos.

The BTS member has co-written and released three solo tracks with the group such as: “Awake” (2016), “Epiphany” (2018), and “Moon” (2020), all of which have charted on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart.

5) Park Jimin – South Korea

South Korean singer and dancer Park Jimin held the fifth position on the list. Jimin has been known to go viral on so many occasions for his visuals, vocal techniques, and dance skills.

Jimin achieved 1 Million Shazam's with his 5 solo tracks; Promise (197,869), Christmas Love (11,955), Filter (301,875), Full Length and Intro Serendipity (330,853), and Lie (198,962), according to Allkpop.

4) Jeon Jungkook – South Korea

South Korean singer and songwriter Jeon Jung-kook, known as Jungkook, came fourth in the list. He is the youngest member and main vocalist in BTS. Jungkook is the first and only Korean idol to have two solo songs surpass 500,000 shazams (Still With You & Euphoria).

3) Kim Taehuyng – South Korea

South Korean singer and actor Kim Taehyung, also known by his stage name V, is one of the top five as he ranked third in the list. V has surpassed 600 million streams on music's biggest platform, Spotify, with 3 of his solo songs and 2 OSTs from his Spotify Profile. Moreover, his "Winter Bear" music video has surpassed 78 million views on YouTube.

2) Patrick Nattawat – Thailand

PatrickNattawat Finkler, nicknamed Patrick, hold the second position on the list. He is an actor and singer of Thai-German descent, born in Germany, but has been living in Thailand since 2014.

In 2021, he participated in the Tencent survival show CHUANG 2021 (Produce Camp 2021) as a contestant, where he ranked 9th. On April 24, 2021, he debuted as a member of the International boy group, INTO1.

1) Jung Ho-seok – South Korea

J-Hope

South Korean rapper and dancer Jung Ho-seok, known by his stage name J-Hope, topped the list of ‘Most Influential Idols’ for 2021. Another milestone, J-hope is the first Korean solo artist to surpass 7 million followers on Spotify.

He had a collaboration with Becky G, making the super hit Chicken Noodle Soup back in September 2019.
