Ali is known as strong defender and advocate for female rights.. She helps in this legally but also works on social awareness campaigns. She is the vice-president of the Anti-Harassment and Violence Against Women Unit at Cairo University. Ali is a co-founder at the arab universities network denouncing violence against women, sponsored by the Arab Women Organization at the League of Arab States. She’s an expert in the women empowerment, and a member of the network of gender-based violence.

On the academic level, she is a professor with friendly relations to all students. She can gather students, no matter their numbers, around her smoothly.
