Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talat inaugurated the annual career expo of the Information Technology Institute (ITI), which provides plenty of opportunities for fresh graduates and startups looking to join the electronics industry.
A number of workshops with the participation of 60 domestic and international firms offering 1,800 job opportunities will be organized on the margins.
In a statement, the minister said the ministry aims at turning Egypt into a regional and international hub for various information technology specializations, adding that several international companies are seeking to set up outsourcing centers in Egypt.
He also affirmed that the ministry's top priority is for building digital capabilities and expanding the base of IT professionals, noting that the ministry is planning to expand the training programs at various levels to reach over the coming five years from 4,000 trainees to 250,000 trainees.
