Italy's government announced today, Friday, that it will start withdrawing her forces from Afghanistan within few next days. Lorenzo Guirini, Italy's Defense Minister, addressed cadets of Military College in Milan, as saying that his country discussed with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO procedures of withdrawal from Afghanistan after 20 years of deploying there.
Over the next days, Italy will start withdrawing 800 troopers from Afghanistan where they encamped in Kabul and Herat.
The Italian minister revealed that 54 troopers were killed in Afghanistan during their service there.
It is worth noting, the US President Joe Biden has announced that the USA and the NATO will complete withdrawing their forces from Afghanistan by next September 11 which coincides with the 20th anniversary of horrible attacks on the twin towers in New York.
Biden ordered on Wednesday to complete withdrawing of US forces to terminate the longest war that it participated in.
He indicated that the USA couldn't go on sequestering resources in unwinnable war with unexpected results.
On the other hand, Hamdallah Moheb, Advised of Afghani National Security, said that withdrawal of foreign forces from his country, presents a great chance to Afghans to control security in the country.
He explained that Afghanistan doesn't need US forces to combat in but what it needs is supporting the national defense forces.
He pointed out that the USA and her partners pledge to support the army and police in Afghanistan.
Moheb went on to say that after completing withdrawal of foreign forces, the Taliban movement has no pretext to continue fighting after that.
He stressed that it is time to achieve real peace with the government of Afghanistan ad become a part of the main stream of political spectrum.
He warns the Taliban of boycotting Istanbul peace conference and considers this another political mistake.
He revealed that since 2014, the Afghani forces carried out 90% of military operations independently without any foreign intervention.
