Italy and Slovakia have declared their support for the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
According to a statement issued by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with her Slovak counterpart Robert Fico, during which both leaders reiterated their shared commitment to a stable and peaceful Middle East.
During the meeting, the Slovak Prime Minister called for the immediate release of all hostages and a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The discussions also touched on support for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, European competitiveness, renewable energy and next-generation nuclear power, as well as issues related to security, defense, and combating illegal migration.
